Here’s the thing: the writing pours out of me in this old pirate ship of a cabin.
I am pushing the arc of the narrative closer and closer to being a complete book manuscript. I never could have forseen this story. It has given itself to me.
What advice do I have for writer’s of memoir? Follow the clues: your fascinations, your passions, your heartache and delight. In the events that surround those emotions will rise the shape of a story. This tale I am telling moves form Santa Fe, to Venice, from Italy to Germany, from Europe to America’s Great Plains, but always it follows my heart’s desire to make sense of my life.
Being honest is a daily challenge.
