Venezia—Full moon aqua alta

Wish I’d had a photo of me plunging through high water in Piazza San Marco the other day. I’d share it here, but it will have to live in memory. The crowds were queuing for the wooden walkways, but I had on knee waders. It’s only water . . . So off I went across the Piazetta. In the center it was almost to the top of the boots. I slowed down, pushing through the sea water rather than splashing, made it to higher ground, and stepped out at the Doge’s Palace. Happy life!
